NWTC Offers Classes for Backyard Farmers

The NWTC Learning and Innovation Center in Sister Bay is offering two workshops Nov. 2 designed for aspiring backyard farmers. “Chicken Basics” is 9 am – 12 pm and “Bee Basics” is 1-4 pm. Learn about raising chickens and/or bees, including how to acquire them, breeds, costs, health and more. The programs are taught by Valerie Dantoin, NWTC organic agriculture specialist.
