NWTC to Offer Nutrient-Management Planning Program

Starting in October, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will offer an agricultural nutrient-management planning program that’s designed to help participants develop a nutrient-management plan that meets the NRCS 590 standard requirements. They will enter soil-test information into the SNAPPLUS software program and develop a plan using the data. Topics include conservation plans, field mapping, soil-test analysis, manure management, crop selection and crop nutrient requirements.

It is highly recommended that you have soil tests that are no more than four years old, sampled on a one-sample-per-five-acre basis, and analyzed by a DATCP-approved laboratory.

The program will be offered at the Sturgeon Bay campus on four Fridays between Oct. 4, 2019 and Feb. 14, 2020, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. The approximate fee is $59.10. The program will also be offered at the Green Bay campus on four Fridays between Oct. 11, 2019 and Jan. 24, 2020, at the same time and with the same fee.

Refresher sessions will be held March 13, 2020, at the Green Bay campus and April 3, 2020, at the Luxemburg Regional Center. The approximate fee is $18.15.
