NWTC Wins Education Innovation Award for Student Success

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is excited to announce the college has been named the winner of the Hobson’s Education Advances Award for Student Success. NWTC is sharing the nod with Morgan State University in Baltimore. The award recognizes colleges for innovative approaches to helping students succeed.

NWTC uses the Starfish early alert system to identify students who are struggling. Since implementing the platform, the college has seen improved course pass rates, graduation rates, and program persistence.

“At the college, we start with the premise that every student will succeed,” said Dean of Student Development John Grant. “We are proud to receive the Student Success Award. Our partnership with Starfish and Hobsons is helping our students build a better life and position NWTC to achieve even stronger student outcomes in the future.”

The Hobsons Education Advances Awards symbolize the innovation that is possible when an institution combines people, process, and technology to make a difference in the lives of students.

Award winners will receive a cash prize to further boost student program initiatives.
