Alberta Ida Grovogel, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, died at Anna’s Health Care (Bay View Senior Care) in Sturgeon Bay. She was born in Sturgeon Bay to Albert and Emma (Werkheiser) Klansky. On Dec. 10, 1955, she married John Grovogel at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He died Jan. 2, 2015.
Alberta was a very hard worker and talented seamstress. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Doerr Electric for 13 years and also picked apples and cherries. She loved cooking, canning, crafting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her passion and priority.
Survivors include six children, Susie (Kenneth, deceased) Greig, Bellingham, WA; Kathryn (Bruce) Doar, Appleton; Daniel (Carol Belongia) Grovogel, Sturgeon Bay; John (Mary Hafeman) Grovogel, Forestville; Mary (Robert) LaLuzerne, Forestville; Gary (Pamela Siegmund) Grovogel, Algoma; 12 grandchildren, Troy, Heather (Jared), Ashley, Rhett (Heather), Travis (Holly), Jessica (Jason), Jacob (Jenny), Jamie, Nicholas, Heidi, Aaron, and Jeffrey; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Klansky, Baileys Harbor; and sister-in-law, Jean Klansky, Sturgeon Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Kenneth Greig; two brothers, Gerald (Vera) Klansky and Albert Klansky; and sister-in-law Lorraine Klansky.
Funeral services will held Friday, Nov. 25, 6 pm, at Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 28, 10:30 am. Friends may call at Forbes Funeral Home on Nov. 25, 4-6 pm.
