Obituary: Alyssa Breanne Fuerst

June 8, 1995 ~ May 17, 2022

Alyssa Breanne (Laughlin) Fuerst, 26, of Suamico, died while at her home, Tuesday evening, May 17, 2022.

She was born June 8, 1995 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of James and Heather (Weborg) Laughlin. Alyssa graduated from Gibraltar High School in 2013 before attending the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Somers (northwest of Kenosha). In 2013, she was introduced to Joey Fuerst through Mary Kay Shumway. For Joey, it was love at first sight, and on September 16, 2017, Alyssa married the love of her life, Timothy “Joey” Fuerst II. He is devastated at the sudden loss of his dear wife. Alyssa had been diagnosed recently with a seizure disorder, and this event was never anticipated as she lived her life to the fullest right up until her passing.

Alyssa had a great sense of humor which came to her naturally. Spending time with her husband, Joey, was the greatest joy in her life – working on home projects together, dog walks and trips to the dog park, gaming with her mom, and working on puzzles were some of her favorite things. Together, she and Joey were growing in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoyed bible studies together and at church. They attended Journey Church in De Pere.

Alyssa will be deeply missed by her husband, Tim “Joey” Fuerst of Suamico; parents, James and Heather Laughlin of Ellison Bay; two brothers, Anthony “Bubba” (and friend, Alexa), Alex “Chubs” (his friend, Kayla); maternal grandparents, Mark and Melannie Weborg of Ellison Bay; mothers-in-law, Kathy (Chuck) Swoboda of Green Bay, Mary Kay Shumway of Sister Bay (and her children, Kaytlin and Kierra Shumway); sister-in-law, Melissa (Patrick) Mock; aunts and uncles; many dear cousins; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Tim Fuerst, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Regina Walsh; and other relatives.

A celebration of Alyssa’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Pastor Joel Rose officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rowleys Bay Cemetery in the Town of Liberty Grove.

Family will receive friends at Huehns Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and also on Friday from noon until the time of service. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Apple Valley Lanes, 1217 N. 14th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 following the service on Friday.
