Obituary: Ann Marie Ostrand

August 8, 1949 ~ December 4, 2022 

Ann Marie Ostrand, 73, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Dec. 4, 2022, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.  She was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Algoma to Arnold Johnsrud Sr. and Nedra Nelson.

After graduation from Southern Door High School, Ann went to work for The Plumbers in Algoma where her mother was working.  She later worked for Midwest Wire and Apple Valley Lanes.  Most recently, she was employed as a driver for Door to Door Transport.

Ann was married to Russell Ostrand Sr. for 25 years and they had 3 children.  After they divorced, she married Daniel Jacobs while she was on a trip to Jamaica.  He preceded her in death.

Ann enjoyed being a lifelong member of the Algoma Community Band.  She was also a lifelong member of Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church.  As a member of the community band, she was able to travel to Ireland and on an Alaskan cruise.   Ann loved horses, especially her current horse Goldflash.  She also loved singing in the church choir.

She is survived by her son Russell V. Ostrand (his life partner Tina Thiry), Green Bay; 6 grandchildren, sister Annette Johnsrud, 3 brothers, Norman (Laura) Johnsrud, Arnie (Jeanne) Johnsrud, and Nelson (Jane) Johnsrud; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 children, Rodney Ostrand and Camranh (Joe) Burmeister, granddaughter Ericka Lynn, and sister Julie Lynn.

A memorial service will be conducted at Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, Dec. 9, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
