Obituary: Armand Herbert Tipler

Armand Herbert Tipler, 76, of Sturgeon Bay, died surrounded by his family at his home on March 5, 2018.  He was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Sturgeon Bay to Edward and Mabel (Scott) Tipler.  On Nov. 7, 1959, he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Eckert at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church.

Armand loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing and excavating. He also liked to take long road trips with Betty and his dog, Molly. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and past president of the Jacksonport “Port Riders” Snowmobile Club. Armand was a very generous and giving person who would always help anyone in need.

Survivors include his wife, Betty “Jeanie”; three children, Donna (Craig) Tlachac, Vista, CA and their children, Chelsea (Jeremy) Curtright, Tyler (Stephanie) Tlachac, and Justin (Andrenae) Tlachac; Mike (Diane) Tipler, Sturgeon Bay and their children, Robert (Shana), Daniel (Sandy), Ashley, Jamie (Telly), Sam (Sadie), and Alex; Steve (Lynne) Tipler, Sturgeon Bay, and their children, Nicholas, Samantha, Nathaniel, Mikayla, and Olivia; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wendt; two brothers-in-law, Edward (Chris) Eckert, Gilbert, AZ; Bill (Patsy) Eckert, Brussels.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Wally Eckert.

Memorial services will be 11:30 am, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Reeder Herrick officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of services at the church on Saturday.
