Obituary: Armene G. (Dhuey) Delfosse

November 19, 1930 ~ March 11, 2022

Armene G. Delfosse, 91 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died Friday evening, March 11, 2022 while at Door County Medical Center.

She was born on November 19, 1930 in Lincoln, the daughter of the late Zepherence and Josephine (Joniaux) Dhuey.  Armene attended Lincoln School.  On May 17, 1949 she married Robert E. Delfosse at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln.  Together they dairy farmed as a family for many years.  They enjoyed traveling together, especially to Hawaii and Belgium, polka dancing, playing cards with friends and family.  Her endearing smile and happiness were always present as she loved her family and being with friends.  Armene loved the holidays, buying gifts for others, playing Mrs. Santa, and being surprised with gifts from others.  Her priorities in life were faith, praying the Rosary multiple times a day, and caring for her family and others above self. 

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Brussels and Forestville Homemakers. 

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa (Stewart) Fett of Sturgeon Bay; two sons, Dan (Sherri) Delfosse of Luxemburg, Dean (Robin) Delfosse of Brussels; grandchildren, Mindie (Travis) Overbeck, Adam (Megan) Delfosse, Danielle (Rich Dreier)Ware-Dreier, Nicole (Phil Raess) Fett, Aaron Fett, Justin (Stefanie) Delfosse, Jennifer (Jim) Hart, April (Tim) Clark, Ashley Delfosse; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Faith, Brodie, Ethan, Ashlyn, Aiden, Aubri; Moriah, Gracie, Taylor; Jameson, Preston, Cullen; Brady, Connor, Layla; her sister, Mary Ann Conard of Casco; sister-in-law, Virgil Maccoux of Green Bay.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Zepherence and Josephine Dhuey; husband, Robert (2014); son, David (2011); brother, Harris Dhuey; sister-in-law, Emily Dhuey; infant sister, Anne (3 mos.); brothers-in-law, Francis Conard, Ronald Maccoux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Anthony Birdsall as celebrant.  Entombment will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday March 18, 2022 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and again on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass at 10:30 a.m. All are invited to pray the Rosary, that was so important to Armene, at 3:45 p.m. on Friday at Huehns Funeral Home and a parish wake service at 7:00 p.m.

The family of Armene Delfosse would like to thank Dr. Richard Hogan, the nursing staff at Door County Medical Center, and the entire staff at Anna’s Healthcare for the wonderful care she received.
