September 17, 1945 ~ July 13, 2021
Audrey Rosella Bangert, age 75, of Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 with her loving husband by her side.
She was born in Green Bay to Carl and JoAnn Tilleson on September 17, 1945 and married Lea Bangert on September 4, 1965 in Green Bay.
Audrey’s greatest joy was raising her family. One of her many ways she showed her love was by being a creative, gourmet cook and baker. She had a great curiosity about the world and took many RV vacations, as well as memorable trips to China and Austria. Audrey showed her love to all children by volunteering in local elementary schools, including as an event coordinator, volunteer coordinator, and tutor for eye-hand coordination and reading. She was most proud of tutoring a recent immigrant child in reading. Audrey also volunteered with the Cub Scouts of America and her fondest Scout memory was an airplane ride over Door County for a group of delighted boys.
Audrey enjoyed learning. She formally studied early childhood development, interior design, and computer processing and operations. She worked for many years at A.C. Nielson in the data processing department. Later, she worked at multiple companies converting paper filing systems to computer file management systems. Audrey was also a partner of Bangert Construction.
Audrey’s love will live in the hearts of her husband, three sons, and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey’s life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Stegmann officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.
Huehns Funeral Home of Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Bangert family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Audrey may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
