Obituary: Barbara Emmeline Logerquist

May 28, 1933 ~ October 26, 2020

Barbara Emmeline Logerquist, 87, died on October 26, 2020 in the Monet Inn of Caretel in Linden, Michigan.

She was born May 28, 1933 in Sister Bay, daughter of the late Edmund and Edna (Prust) Logerquist, the eldest of four children. Barb loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Sister Bay, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and served as pianist. After graduation from Gibraltar High School, she continued her education at the Door Kewaunee Normal School and the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where she earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees of Science.

She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousins and friend. Barb was especially proud of her education, her career as a teacher, the family farm in Sister Bay and travel. She taught at numerous schools in Door County including Newport, Ellison Bay, and Carlsville and retired in 1985 from the Menomonee Falls school system. 

Barb is survived by her brother, Duane (Ruth) Manitowoc; sisters, Sheila (Bill) Lundquist of Fenton, MI and Sister Bay, and Rosalie (Frank) Lisser of Oconomowoc; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. 

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date. 

The family thanks the staff of Caretel in Linden for their loving care over the past five years and McLaren Hospice.
