Obituary: Bea A. Mathison

Bernice "Bea" Audrey MathisonBea A. Mathison, 98, of Sturgeon Bay, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

She was born on December 6, 1917, to William and Mayme (Challe) Robillard in the Town of Gardner, WI. On April 15, 1939, she married Don Blakley Mathison. Bea was a member of Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay and the Order of the Eastern Star. Don and Bea were great dancers and traveled to various dancing venues with their dear friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Terry) Godres of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Godres-Tomes of Sturgeon Bay, and Matthew (Honneli) Godres of De Pere; great-grandchildren,  Brianna Tomes of Luxemburg, Tyler Tomes of Brussels; Miranda, Hailey, Kaileigh, Eli, Bodie, and Stella; and great-great-grandson, Blake.

Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don; parents, William and Mayme (Challe) Robillard; sister, Glennie DeBroux; and two brothers, Wilmer Robillard, and Gilbert Robillard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Friends may call at the church, Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bay View Lutheran Church (340 W. Maple St., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235), the Henry S. Baird #174 Masonic Lodge (in Don’s Memory) (P.O. Box 86), or the Door County Humane Society (P.O. Box 93, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235).
