Obituary: Brenda Mary Oram

Brenda Mary Oram, 60, of Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully, Sunday, November 13, 2016 in the comfort of her home.

She was born May 27, 1956 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Bruce and Adrienne (Jorns) Oram. Following her graduation from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1974, Brenda attended Cosmetology School in Oshkosh. She moved to Forestville where she owned and operated “Brenda’s Place,” a local bar and grill, for fifteen years. To Brenda it was more than a business; her customers became her friends. More recently, she had been employed at Pick ‘n Save in Sturgeon Bay until her health prevented her from working.

Brenda was a past member of the Tavern League.

She will be missed by her brother, George (Cindy) Oram of Sturgeon Bay; sister, Linda (David) Hawkey of Sturgeon Bay; four nieces and nephews, Nicholas Oram of New York, Michelle Stephenson of Algoma, Derik Hawkey (special friend, Caitlin) of Sturgeon Bay, Kirsten Hawkey of Green Bay; aunt, Jacolynne Stiehl of Sturgeon Bay; uncle, Tom (Sandee) Jorns of Sturgeon Bay; and many friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Bob Stegmann as celebrant. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery Columbarium.

Friends may call at the church, Friday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
