Carol Jean “Mudge” Felhofer, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, died May 3rd, 2023, at Bayview Senior Care LLC (formerly Anna’s Healthcare) in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born July 14, 1935, daughter of the late Howard and Lorna (Mills) Bosman. She attended Algoma High School. Upon graduation, Carol attended Holy Family School of Nursing in Manitowoc, WI. She graduated as a Registered Nurse. Carol was united in marriage to Francis J. Felhofer on December 29, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay. Carol’s nursing career was a testament to her commitment to helping others. As a dedicated nurse, she worked in multiple departments, including the OB floor, General Care, and Employee Health. Generous with her time and efforts, Carol was very involved with many community clubs and events, including the “Look Good, Feel Good” Program, Peninsula Belgian American Club, and both Door County & Belgian Historical Societies, to name a few.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her beautiful gardens and pruning her bonsai plants. Carol loved her time as a member of the Door County YMCA and all her fitness friends. She also loved spending time with her sweet cats, Pansy & Deuce.

But Carol’s most significant passion was her family. Family was everything to her. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was her greatest joy in life.
