Obituary: Charles Lee Peterson

Charles L. Peterson, 71, of Ellison Bay, died Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services after a lengthy illness.

He was born September 25, 1949 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Percy and Dorothy (Anderson) Peterson. He graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1967. Charles served his country during the Vietnam War where, like so many, he left part of himself there emotionally before returning home. At that time, he helped his father in the family commercial fishing business before working as a contract painter for various home builders for the majority of his working life.

Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, survived surgery but succumbed to the cancer, following a seizure on Saturday, September 26, 2020.

Charles is survived by his three siblings, Cindy, Jim, and Kathy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. At Charles’ request, there will be no services.
