Obituary: Cheryl Ann (Berger) Stradel

February 2, 1948 ~ November 4, 2022

Cheryl Ann (Berger) Stradel, 74 years of Sturgeon Bay, died Friday, November 4, 2022, at Cherry Cove Assisted Living and Memory Care.

She was born February 2, 1948, in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Donald and Emily (Destree) Berger. Cheryl graduated from Southern Door High School in 1966. She would eventually buy her parents tavern and restaurant business, Berger’s in Little Sturgeon. Cheryl married Joel Stradel May 6, 1981.

Cheryl was a hard-working independent woman who loved her family very much. Cheryl loved to go fishing with her husband Joel in Fremont, playing bingo, cards, trapshooting.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, Bruce Berger; brother-in-law, Eldor Eichorst; and sister-in-law, Lois Eichorst.

Surviving family members include her three children, Jeff (Christine) DeWitt of Sturgeon Bay, Faye (Jeff) Nedobeck of Green Bay, and Serphin (Sherry) DeWitt of Brillion; six grandchildren, Dakota (Samantha) Henschel, Kelsey Fels (Krissy), Amanda (Brett) Antholt, Ty DeWitt, Payton Nedobeck, and Brice Nedobeck; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Colleen (Bob) Wautlet of Green Bay, and Claire (Gary) Bichler of Belgium, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jay (Sharon) Stradel; nieces and nephews, Dale Eichorst, Dennis Eichorst, Cheryl Grassel, Jeff Stradel, Joe Stradel, Julie Graff, God Son, Bruce (Karen) Wautlet, Bobby (Jamie) Wautlet, Emily (Kenny) Dornburg, and Ali (Tony) Maher

A celebration of her life will be held later and will be announced for all to attend.
