Obituary: Clara ‘Claire’ Baack

Claire Baack, age 93, long-time resident of Sister Bay, died peacefully on March 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rudie; her parents, Ole and Gunhild, and her sister, Alice Harkins. She is survived by her children, Paul Baack and Mary Abrahamson (Ralph); her grandchildren, Christian Abrahamson, Alexander Baack (Hillary) and Natalie Baack; her great grandchildren, Finley and Nicolai; nieces and nephew, Randi, Kari and Joe.

Claire loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage. She performed in a musical comedy routine she created with Gen Follingstad called “Ole and Helga” which delighted many audiences, including two state governors.

She was a talented artist and had a passion for singing in the church choir and community choir. She loved her church, loved to be with people, and loved to play bridge. She will be missed by her family and her many friends.

There will be a Memorial Service for Claire on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran   Church, 11836 Hwy 42, Ellison Bay WI at 11 am, with visitation at 10 am. A lunch will follow at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Minneapolis, Minn.
