Obituary: Corrine C. Stiehl

Corrine C. Stiehl, 83, of Sturgeon Bay, died Monday (October 9, 2017) at Sturgeon Bay Health Services, Dorchester.

She was born December 31, 1933 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Viola (Pivonka) Londo. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1951 before attending Carrol College, and Lake Forest College.  She was employed as a stewardess for major airlines before accepting a position at the Milwaukee Journal promotional department.  In 1960 she married Dr. Stiehl in Algoma. They divorced some years later at which time she moved back to Milwaukee, working for a brokerage firm, the Pfister Hotel, Man Power, and Dunn Hill a job placement company.

Corrine moved home to Sturgeon Bay when her mother needed 24 hour care, a selfless task that lasted 15 years until Viola’s passing March 26, 1994. Corrine’s father, Lloyd passed away May 1, 1973.

She loved knitting and working in her gardens around their Sturgeon Bay home. Corrine’s interests included family genealogy and community history. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center and spending time with her friends.

Corrine was a lifelong member of St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.

Services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday October 17, 2017, graveside at Bayside Cemetery with Rev. Carl Schroeder pastor of St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church, officiating.
