Obituary: Craig J. Basten

Craig J. Basten died at age 47 after fighting stage four colon cancer for close to four years. He passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Craig was born on October 7, 1974, to Donald and Janice (Phillips) Basten in Green Bay. On July 31, 1999, he was united in marriage to Stacy Birnschein at her parents home in Sturgeon Bay. Craig worked at PAD and loved his job in the audio visual industry. He had passion for music, having played the drums and bass guitar, as well as recently learning acoustic guitar. Craig was an avid bicyclist and raised money for cancer research. He was active in his church, helping with any audio/visual related issues or installation needs. Most of all, he loved his family. The special moments they had and trips they took will always be treasured.

Craig is survived by his wife Stacy and two children Rachel and Elizabeth Basten; his mom Janice (special friend Robert Volm) Basten; sisters Michelle Basten, Tina (Tom) Schmidt, and Sheri Evans; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and Patty Birnschein; brother-in-law Kevin (Olga) Birnschein; nieces and nephews Abigail, Bailey, Katelyn, Emily, Marcus, Adrienne, Grady, Alex, Aubrey, Eli, Anastasia, and Victoria; aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Basten, uncles Leo, Norbert (Betty), Francis, and Ronald Basten.
