Obituary: Daniel H. Kaye

October 12, 1948 ~ April 24, 2020

Daniel Harold Kaye, 71, of Brussels, passed away on April 24, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay.  He was born on October 12, 1948, in Little Sturgeon to Harold and Doris (Destree) Kaye.  On November 10, 1973, he married Noretta Englebert-Knapp, in Brussels.

Dan graduated in 1966, from Southern Door High School in the first class to complete all 4 years at SDHS.  He worked at Bay Shipbuilders for over 35 years as an electrician.  He was a life-long member of the Southern Door Snow Travelers club.  Dan loved hunting, snowmobiling, camping, playing cooyah and sheepshead, cooking side pork by the fire, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He and Noretta spent many years attending Porterfield and Hodag Country music festivals.

Survivors include his wife, Noretta; 2 sons, Jerry (Becky) Knapp and Mike (Kristy) Kaye; 2 daughters, Kim Foster and Debbie Knapp; 10 grandchildren, Chris (Angie), Craig (LuAnn), Brianna, Alanah, Melissa, Ashley, Kori, Jennifer, Crystal, and Amanda; 15 great-grandchildren, including his beloved Ben and Josie; 1 brother, David (Laurie) Kaye; 1 sister, Vangie (Larry) Kaus; 2 brothers-in-law, Dave (Terri) Englebert, and Ervin Cornette; 1 sister-in-law, Wendy (Rick) Vlies.  He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Edward and Viola Englebert; sister-in-law, Clarice Cornette; nephew, Lance Vlies; and son-in-law, Rick Forster.

A private family visitation will be held.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date.
