Obituary: Darlene Joan Kuehn

January 4, 1946 ~ March 19, 2021

Darlene Joan Kuehn, 75, recently of Manitowoc and formerly of Sturgeon Bay, died on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

She was born January 4, 1946 in Dane County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Otto Louis Jr. and Florence Pauline (Spredemann) Kuehn. Darlene worked at the Sunshine House in Sturgeon Bay and made lifelong friends with everyone she met. She enjoyed coloring, puzzles, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Darlene attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute.

Darlene will be missed by her siblings, Richard (Laura) Kuehn, Theresa Haberli, William Kuehn, Evelyn Besaw, Kenneth Kuehn, Patricia (Joe) Casey, and Ruth “Patty” (Tom) Schmidt; numerous nieces and nephews; and her friends at Hil Whitetail Assisted Living and the Sunshine House.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Florence Kuehn; brother, Russell Kuehn; and nephew, Mark L. Starr.

Darlene’s life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Institute on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery alongside her parents.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. For those in attendance, masks and social distancing are required.
