July 31, 1951~September 30, 2021
Darlene Marie (Hannemann) Peters, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
She was born July 31, 1951, in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of Richard and Mathilde Hannemann. She graduated from Southern Door High School in 1969 and later graduated with an associate degree in business from Nicolet Community College in Rhinelander. On June 10, 1972, Darlene married Calvin David Peters at Hainesville Lutheran Church. She was a hard worker who did everything for everyone that she came to know and love. She held many employment and volunteer positions throughout Door County, as well as operating an adult family home with her husband. Together, Darlene and David enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings with friends and family at their home. Some of Darlene’s talents include singing, arts and crafts, cooking, and working with children at her church. She enjoyed doing planned sister weekend getaways and she especially loved to travel with her husband to visit friends, family, and attending her grandchildren’s special events. Darlene loved her husband, children, and grandchildren to the moon and back.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Calvin David Peters; children, Michael D. Peters, Marcia M. (Mike) Willming, and Ryan S. Peters; grandchildren, Remington M Peters and Cambria M Willming; parents, Richard & Mathilde Hannemann; siblings, Shelia (Don) Dipprey, Randi (Randy) Tassoul, Rick (Vicki) Hannemann, and Gary Hannemann; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her “favorite” uncle, Chuck Hannemann.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held at Crossroads Church on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 until the service begins. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Darlene’s name.
