Obituary: Darold Gene Hembel

Darold Gene Hembel, born January 19, 1935 in Sturgeon Bay to Lester and Mamie Hembel, died July 26, 2017.  Darold was the second of eight children.

Darold served his steamfitter apprenticeship through Milwaukee Local 601, then transferred to Green Bay Local 298/400, where he finished his career. Darold was a lifetime member of Gardner Rifle Club, and one of the original members to help clear the rifle range. He loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying beautiful mountains among wildlife.

Darold was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1994 and died a faithful servant of Jehovah God.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandparent.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Haberli) Hembel of 62 years; daughter, Debbie Archiquette and her children Dale Hembel, James Archiquette, and Alisa Archiquette; daughter, Vicki (Gary) Carter and their children Nathan, Amanda, and Sheena Carter; son, Ricky (Jeanie) Hembel and their children Kasey Hock and Joshua Hembel; son, Scott (Angela) Hembel; son, Larry (Kay) Hembel and his daughter Katie Hembel; as well as six great-grandchildren and “one on the way”; siblings, Elean Weckler, Carol Blise, Joanne Kimber, Sandy Raynier, and Lester “Chuck” Hembel Jr.

He was preceded in death by siblings Donna Rodney and Darlene Rohr.

Services were held Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.
