Obituary: Delores A. Harmann

September 14, 1925 ~ June 22, 2021

Delores A. Harmann, 95, of Sturgeon Bay, died on June 22, 2021.  She was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Manitowoc to Gustav and Emma (Schmidt) Wicke.  On Sept. 16, 1950, she married Stanley Harmann who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1991.

After graduating from high school, Delores went to work for Gloe Insurance in Manitowoc.  When she married Stanley, they moved to Sturgeon Bay where she took a job at Evergreen Nursery.  She and Stanley operated the Harmann Orchards in Nasewaupee for many years.  In addition to selling cherries, they also raised honeybees and sold honey.

Delores loved art and spent countless hours drawing and painting.  She even took  art classes through an art institute in Chicago.  She loved square dancing, bowling, and traveling, enjoying her trips to Hawaii and the Holy Land the most.

Delores was a long-time and active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.  She loved her church and enjoyed attending Bible classes and volunteering in the Christian education programs.

She is survived by her Godchildren, JoAnn Noffke of Manitowoc, and Randy (Diane) Seiler of Sturgeon Bay; and other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with the Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.  Memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran School or St. Peter’s Ladies Aid.
