Obituary: Denise Ann Bissen

Denise Ann Bissen, 55, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Thursday evening, October 15, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Dee Dee was born March 26, 1960, in Sturgeon Bay the daughter of the late John and Carolyn (Michel) Pierzchalski. She graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1978. On January 6, 1990, she married Richard Bissen at the home of his parents. Dee had her own business of child care for many years. She also worked with her husband, Rick, at Bissen Asphalt in Sturgeon Bay.

She enjoyed bee keeping and nature, and was happiest when she was with her family, especially her children and three grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Rick Bissen of Sturgeon Bay; four children, Jamie Carolyn, Brittnay Dams, Kayla Bissen, Kyle Bissen; three grandchildren, Logan, Bailey, Isaac; two brothers, John (Jackie) Pierzchalski, Jeff Pierzchalski; sisters, Sonja (Bill) Schuster, Susan (Randy) Pallex, and Diane (Gordon) Carmody.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carolyn Pierzchalski; two brothers, Steven and David Pierzchalski.

A celebration of Dee’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp, Sr., officiating. A time of sharing around the campfire will continue at the Bissen home in Sturgeon Bay immediately following services at Huehns Funeral Home.
