Obituary: Dick Beschta

May 1, 1948 ~ May 28, 2020

Dick Beschta, 72 years, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at his home early Thursday morning (May 28, 2020).

     He was born May 1,1948 in Appleton the son of the late Donald and Dolores (Eckert) Beschta. His family moved to Sturgeon Bay where Dick finished high school and graduated with the class of 1966. On March 30, 1968 he married Sharon “Sherry” Sperber. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2002. On June 24, 2006 he married Sandie Goll.

     Dick worked at Emerson Manufacturing for many years retiring as Process Engineer.

     He was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Dick had a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, and was a great father, and husband and grandfather. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He loved 50’s and 60’s music, vintage cars, was a loyal fan of the PACKERS, BADGERS, playing video poker, and spending winters in Florida with Sandra.

     Survivors include his wife, Sandie; seven children, Brian Beschta (his children, Jordan, Bradley, Brandon), Jennifer (Steve) Grantham (their children, Jack, Sam, Will), Jessica (Bruce) Weckler (their children (Morgan, Cody, Dylan), Jackie (Tony) Anqud (their daughters, Madison, Gloria), Cory (Michelle) Paul (their sons, Jacob, Sam), Andy (Heather) Paul, (their children, Ivy, Huxley), Stephanie (Josh) Glocke (their daughters, Emilie, Mia); aunt, Sandy Turecek; Sherry’s mother, Verna Sperber; and other extended loving family members and friends.

     Preceding him in death was his parents, Donald and Dolores Beschta, wife, Sharon “Sherry” Beschta; daughter-in-law, Angela Beschta; sister, Dyanne Beschta; aunt, Peggy Sommerfelt; and uncle, Elmer Turecek; Sherry’s father, Willard Sperber.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2020 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.  Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery. 

     Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Huehns Funeral Home. Social distancing will be maintained and those attending all services will be required to wear masks at the funeral home and church. Hand sanitizer will be provided. Visitation will continue Monday, June 1, 2020 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a limitation of 50 in attendance at the church funeral service at 11:00 a.m. as well as the devotion Sunday evening at 6:50 p.m. at the funeral home. For the visitation, 10 visitors will be allowed in the main chapel at any one time in addition to the family.
