OBITUARY: Dorothy Lou Voight

Dorothy Lou (Johnson) Voight, 87, of Gills Rock, died Aug. 22, 2018. She was born April 28, 1931 in Port Wing, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Alf and Elvina (Okerstrom) Johnson.

Dorothy married Donald Voight on Dec. 27, 1952. She was active in the commercial fishing business they owned. She also worked at the Viking fish boils in Ellison Bay and the Shoreline gift shop in Gills Rock.

Dorothy is survived by five children; Larry, Lyle, Leon (Lynne) Voight, Cheryl (Jeff) Muhowski and Sheila (Bill) Koessl; 10 Grandchildren; Barbara King, Stephanie Carson, Leon II (Nikki) Voight, Casey (Brandon) Honold, Matt Muhowski, Cory (Paul) Schwenke, Alyssa LaRouche, John Koessl, Makya Voight, and Brianna Voight; 13 Great Grandchildren; Hayden, Deja, Gavin, Hanna, Shaw, Preston, Madison, Mason, Nora, Toby, Alvina, Landon, and Easton. Also survived by sisters; Doris Voight and Virginia Canning, brothers-in-law; Irvin Rounsville and Walter Koski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sisters; Corrine Voight and Miriam Rounsville, sisters-in-law; Elaine Stawicki, Leona Telfer and Arlene Koski, brothers-in-law; Chester Stawicki, Gerald Voight, Robert Voight, Leland Voight and Emmett Canning.

A special thank you to the staff at Ministry Home Care and Unity hospice for their care.

Memorial Service will be held at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay, WI on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 11 am. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at the church. A lunch will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
