Obituary: Eileen Copiskey

Eileen Copiskey, 81, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on July 29, 2016 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ryan Thompson.  She was born March 25, 1935 in Sturgeon Bay to Clarence and Helen (Weckler) Cumber.  On Aug. 25, 1973, she married Charles L. Copiskey in Michigan.  He preceded her in death on March 19, 2007.

Eileen worked as head housekeeper at the Dorchester for 16 years.  She had also worked for Hardee’s and Culver’s, retiring in 2003.  She was a life time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a long-time member and past president of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

Eileen enjoyed many years of traveling across the country with her husband, camping, and square dancing.  She also loved crocheting and painting handmade crafts, and going out for meals with friends.

She is survived by 4 children, Elaine (Gene) Dennis, Algoma;  Bonnie Vogel, Green Bay; Richard Dragosh, DePere; and Lisa (Ryan) Thompson, Maplewood; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, twin sister Elaine Cumber and brother Clarence Cumber, both of Sturgeon Bay, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating.  Burial will be in Blossomburg Cemetery.  Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
