Obituary: Elberta Jean Dahlin

Elberta Jean Dahlin, 77, of Gills Rock, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home, Sunday morning, September 27, 2015. Elberta was born on December 8, 1937 in Chicago Illinois to Ester and Albin Nelson.

Elberta graduated from Amundson High School and Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and was employed by Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago Illinois. Elberta married Robert Dahlin on October 10, 1959. Kristofer was born on March 6, 1963 and James was born on May 21, 1965. Elberta was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed all genres of music. Elberta was a member of Swedish Chorus, Varblommar (Spring Flowers) and a Swedish folk dancer in Svenska Dans . Elberta enjoyed gardening and art in addition to raising two boys. While raising her boys, she returned to work at Weiss Hospital as an Emergency Room Nurse. Both Elberta and Robert were actively involved with Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Chicago Illinois. After her grandchildren were born, Elberta enjoyed time with her grandchildren in both Door County and Marin County passing on Swedish traditions to Luke Anders and Jenna Nicole.

Elberta is preceded in death by her mother, Ester, father Albin and son Kristofer. Elberta is survived by her husband, Robert Dahlin of Gills Rock, WI, James (son) and Robyn, Luke and Jenna (grandchildren) Dahlin of Greenbrae, California.

Viewing will be Friday October 2, 2015 Shepherd of the Bay in Ellison Bay 11836 Wisconsin Hwy 42 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service begins at 11:00 am officiated by Reverend Frank Maxwell.

Elberta will be remembered for her vivacious personality, kind spirit and warm heart.
