Obituary: Eleanor Louise (Langoehr) Bowers

May 16, 1939 ~ November 12, 2020

Eleanor Louise Bowers, 81, of Baileys Harbor, died on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Waupun, Wisconsin.

She was born May 16, 1939 in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of the late Lawrence and Esther Frances Marie (Staver) Langoehr. She graduated from Gibraltar High School with the Class of 1958. Eleanor worked as a cashier at Krist Foods in Sister Bay for more than 35 years. Then she worked as a housekeeper for Liberty Park Lodge before her official retirement. Eleanor was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. She enjoyed gardening and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Eleanor was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor will be missed by her children, Phyllis (Randy) Hartel of Baileys Harbor, Scott Bowers of Green Bay, and Mary Perry of Waupun; grandchildren, Justin, Eric (Kelly), and Vincent Hartel, Samantha Bowers (Jordan), and Shannon Perry (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Braiden, Tori, Tanner, and Pearl Hartel and Cora, Ryder, and Brooks; sister, Anna Rockefeller; and brother- and sister-in-law, Glenn Deremo and Mary Langoehr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Norman Perry; great-granddaughter, Chevell; brothers, Herman, Alfred, Karl (Evelyn), and Albert (Merel) Langoehr; and sisters, Alfreida Langoehr and Frances Deremo.

Eleanor will be laid to rest near her family in the Little Sister Cemetery during a private family service on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
