OBITUARY: Elmer W. Starr Jr.

Elmer W. Starr Jr., 66, of Forestville, died Sept. 6, 2018, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.  He was born April 28, 1952, in Sturgeon Bay to Elmer W. Sr. and Rita (Cochenet) Starr.  Elmer worked at Bay Shipbuilding for many years.  During his life, he enjoyed shooting pool, golfing and deer hunting.

Survivors include his daughter Jayme Starr; grandson Mark A. Starr; granddaughter Alexandria Mumme, all of Nichols, WI; two sisters, Ethel Christianson, Sturgeon Bay; Penny Delorit, Tiverton, RI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kim (Dawn) Starr, Brussels; Bart (Laurie) Starr, Forestville; Rob (Penny) Starr, Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark L. Starr; two sisters, Barbara Ryan and Ann Fameree.

Funeral services will be 7 pm Monday Aug. 10, 2018, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.  Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Monday from 3 – 7 pm.

Special thank you to Eddie and Carol Krueger and Joe Kerscher for assisting Elmer with medical transportation, and to many neighbors and friends who helped in many ways over the last several months.  Also, the 4th floor staff at Bellin Hospital (especially Daniel R.N.) and Unity Hospice for the care he received over the past weeks.  The kindness of so many does not go unnoticed.
