Obituary: Eric L. Heil

Eric L. “Corky” Heil, was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. Eric graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1967, excelling in sports, especially as a wrestler his junior and senior years when he went to state. Corky played many years for Andre’s. His left-handed swing was legendary. Eric attended UW-Stout in Menomonie where he graduated in 1972 with a B.S. in psychology. Eric spent his lifetime as a painting contractor, and commercial fisherman. Eric is survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Julaine Jeanquart. He is also survived by the mother of his sons, Patsy (Eric) Vollrath. He is further survived by his children, Christopher Heil (Lee Ann) of Ridgefield, CT, Patrick Heil of Los Angeles, CA, and Tabitha Marquez of Sturgeon Bay, WI. He leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Haydn Rose Marquez and Brooks Richard Heil. Corky’s wish was to mention his beloved Labrador retrievers, who brought both joy and companionship to his life:  Lady, Molly, Maggie, Michelle, and Samarah Rae. A graveside committal service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in spring. A celebration of Eric’s life will follow at the Greystone Castle, which establishment was originally built by his great-grandfather Henry Fortemps. The date and times of the committal service and celebration of life will be announced in the near future. Huehns Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Sturgeon Bay is assisting with arrangements.
