Obituary: Ervin R. Jadin

September 29, 1924 ~ July 11, 2022

Ervin Raphael Jadin, 97, of Brussels, died on July 11, 2022.  He was born September 29, 1924, in Brussels to Moses and Esther (LeRoy) Jadin.  Erv was a 1941 graduate of Brussels High School and maintained many lifetime friendships with his fellow graduates.

After attending business college in Green Bay, he married Dorraine Jeanquart in Namur on June 2, 1948.  Ervin was a hardworking and successful farmer for his entire life.  In his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida with close friends.

Ervin was a lifetime member of St. Francis Church in Brussels where he sang in the choir for over 50 years and served on the church council.  He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.  He served his community as long-time clerk for the Town of Brussels and was also a past member of the Door County Board of Supervisors.   Erv enjoyed celebrating his Belgian Heritage, especially with some prune pie.

He is survived by a daughter, Sue Robertson of Brussels; grandsons, Paul Robertson of Brussels and Jonathan Robertson of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Florence DeDecker of Sturgeon Bay; 2 brothers-in-law, Dennis (Sharon) Jeanquart of Brillion and Al Moore Jr. of Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, son, Brian, son-in-law, Kurt Robertson; 2 brothers, Jim and Ted; brother-in-law, Elmer DeDecker; and sister-in-law, Bernie Moore.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2022, at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels.  Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service.

Special thanks to the staff at Pinecrest Village, and Door County Medical Center-Skilled Nursing Facility for their wonderful care and support.  Also, to his neighbors Chuck and Candi Bretl and nephew, Nick Moore who helped Dad in so many ways.
