Obituary: Evelyn J. Hulbert

Evelyn Jane was born Jan. 17, 1923 and died Nov. 5, 2017. She was born and raised in Sister Bay. Evelyn met and married her beloved Paul on Jan. 22, 1949. She raised her three children, Dennis, Pattie and Rick in Sister Bay as well.

Evelyn and Paul were co-owners of Lake and Bay View Bus Line along with her brother, Roger Isaacson and his wife Faye. From driving bus and bookkeeping at Berns Bros Lumber, also owning the Beach Road Market, she always had a place in her community.

She loved her church, Sister Bay Baptist Church and lived a life through God. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Paul, brother Roger and parents, Gladys and Ernest Isaacson. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Terri), Pattie, Rick (Rhonda) and two grandchildren, Matt Schmirler and Kari Schmirler Bolton (Cody) and her two sisters, Gloria Sitte (Glenn) and Dorothy Larson (Bud).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Scandia Village’s Capital Campaign or First Baptist Church Sister Bay.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held in the spring of 2018. To be announced.

The family is honoring Evelyn’s wish and there will be a graveside service on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 1 pm at Little Sister Cemetery.
