Obituary: George “Bud” Schubert

January 23, 1926 ~ March 22, 2023

George “Bud” Schubert, age 97 of the Town of Ledgeview, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Angel’s Touch Assisted Living and Memory Care.  He was born on January 23, 1926, to the late Fredrick John and Laura Ann (Simon) Schubert in Sturgeon Bay.  He attended Sturgeon Bay High School.  Bud proudly served in the United State Navy.  After completion of his service, he graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School.  Bud was united in marriage to the love of his life, Genevieve Weber until her passing.  He was able to find love again and married the last love of his life, Grace McCormick in which she also preceded him in death. 

His love for planes also took him to the EAA Air Shows in Oshkosh.  Bud was a dedicated and loving husband.  Even though he did not have any children of his own, he treated his nieces and nephews as his own.  He was a very selfless man and would quickly forgive others. 

Bud is survived by, his nieces and nephews, Pat Murphy, Debi (Larry) Childs, Barbara (Al) Heine, Fred (Cindy) Schubert and Andy (Shawnett) Schubert, and one niece-in-law, Deb Amore.  He is further survived great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Genevieve and his second wife Grace, his parents, and his siblings, Fredrick Ozzie (Ina (Kurth)) Schubert and Margaret (James) Rieke.

Nobody may know George, but they all know Bud.  All he asks is that he be remembered as a good guy.  -Bud Schubert
