Obituary: Geraldine (Dudek) Wipperfurth

Geraldine Wipperfurth, 74, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Door County Medical Center.

She was born May 12, 1947 in Illinois, daughter of the late John and Eleanor Dudek. Geraldine graduated from Palatine High School in 1965, where she met her future husband, Norman Joseph Wipperfurth. The two were wed on September 16, 1967 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Hoffman Estates. In 1980, the family moved to Sturgeon Bay. Geraldine worked as the secretary for Johnson Law Office for 10+ years. Since 2003, she has worked as a Title Examiner for Peninsula Title. Geraldine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time outside in the sun. Geraldine was a proud wife, mom, and grandma, who loved spending time with her family, and watching her kids and grandsons play sports.

Geraldine will be missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Norman; children, Steve (Andrea) Wipperfurth of Sturgeon Bay, Janice Wipperfurth of Green Bay, and Jenny (fiancée, Bryan Thul) Wipperfurth of Lake Geneva; grandchildren, Austin Lardinois, Mikayla Franda, Lauren Franda, Kody Wipperfurth, and Kolten DuBois; and brother, Leonard (Carole) Dudek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; and sister-in-law.

Geraldine’s life will be honored with a service on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Huehns Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
