Obituary: Gordon ‘Gordy’ Kenneth Falk

Gordon “Gordy” Kenneth Falk, 85, of the Town of Sevastopol, died Thursday morning, January 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born February 16, 1932 in Milwaukee, the son of Otto Lee Falk and Marjorie (Thielke) Falk. Gordy graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1950 and then enlisted to serve his country with the United States Navy the following year in 1951. He was honorably discharged from service in 1955. Gordy went on to study at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).

On March 17, 1962, he married Patricia Grace (Cummings) at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. They were blessed with more than 43 years of marriage. Patricia preceded Gordy in death on December 6, 2005.

Gordy sailed on the Great Lakes and then for Ocean Shipping tankers and freighters. He retired as Chief Engineer in 1994.

Gordy enjoyed his morning breakfasts at Mel’s in Sturgeon Bay, the Hitching Post in Valmy, and Wednesday morning Bible Study at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.

He will be missed by his daughter, Christina Kacalo of Casco; two granddaughters, Hanna (Jeff) DuBois of Luxemburg and Samantha (Corey) Colburn of Tomahawk; and seven great-grandchildren, Sean, Phoebe, Maren, Finnian, Sofia, Ephram, and Gemma.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Marjorie Falk; wife, Patricia; and brother and sister-in-law, David (Margaret) Falk.

Funeral services for Gordy were held Jan. 16, 2018 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor James Gomez officiating. Military Honors by the United States Navy followed at the church. He was laid to rest beside his wife, Patricia, in the Forestville Town Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Gordy’s memory for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
