Obituary: James Arnold Herrbold

February 4, 1937 ~ October 23, 2021

James “Jim” Arnold Herrbold, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, died Saturday evening, October 23, 2021 at Cherry Cove Senior Living in Sturgeon Bay.

Jim was born February 4, 1937 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Arnold and Frances (Peronto) Herrbold. Jim married Sally Jean Corbisier in 1958.

He owned his own furniture restoration business and was an antique dealer. He also worked at Palmer Johnson’s in Sturgeon Bay. An avid outdoorsman, he loved the adventure that fishing, and deer hunting brought which was always followed by stories of how the “big one got away”! He loved all animals especially his dog companions over the years. He was a gardener and master collector, collecting everything from antique keys to cars and kerosene lamps. He was a huge Country Western music fan and for years, he and Sally never missed a chance to go camping and take in the Hodag in Rhinelander!

Jim will be missed by his three daughters, Vicky Hoosier (Christopher Watson) of Sturgeon Bay, Cheryl (David) Paul of Sturgeon Bay, and Cindy (Robert) Bacskai of Mequon; six grandchildren, Alisha (AJ), Josh, Jena, Kyle, and Nathan and Nicholas; five great-grandchildren (and two on the way); and sister, Dorothy Taubenheim of Sheboygan.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Ken, Glenn, and Delbert; sister, Betty; and infant son, Robert.

Per his wishes, there will not be any public services.
