Obituary: James F Olson

September 5, 1933 ~ January 28, 2023

James Franklin Olson of Sturgeon Bay, 89, died from a heart attack and surrounded by his loved ones at Door County Medical Center on January 28, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1933, in La Crosse, WI to Roy and Loretta (Loberger) Olson. On October 6, 1962, he was married to Patricia Beaumia in Oconto Falls.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed bowling, loved casino runs and was an avid traveler as well as hunting, fishing, cooking, and his Thursday Night Card Club.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; and four children April (Randy) Kania, Greenback TN; Debby (Shaun) Brauer-Koulias, Jacksonport; Steve Olson, Sturgeon Bay; Wendy (Jeff) Guilette, Brussels; and 10 grandchildren Megan (Jason) McKinney; Joseph Kania; Rachelle (Danial) Alt; Alexis Kania; Cecilia (Troy) Baskett; Cecil (Ashley) Brauer; Carla Brauer; Cassandra Brauer; Jamie (Robyn) Guilette; and Kayla Guilette; 7 great grandchildren, Olivia, Astrid, Lorelei, Cecil, Liam, Morgan, Aurora, and one on the way; brothers and sisters, Anita Hearley, Ardella Nelson, Laona (Bill) Fonferik, Luann (Roy) Woodland, 8 in-laws, Polly Wenta; Phillip (Corinne) Beaumia, Art (Penny) Beaumia, Mike (Liz) Beaumia, Kathy Beaumia, Bertie Beaumia, Marilyn Olson, and Diane Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leroy (Diane) Olson, Tony Olson, Cletus (Karen) Olson, Dave Olson; and sister, Evelyn (Bernie); as well as brothers-in-law, Eugene Beaumia; Frank Hearley; and Don Wenta.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Ryan Krueger officiating. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday February 2nd, 2023, at Forbes Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church Friday.
