Obituary: James Richard Copiskey

July 29, 1974 – Feb. 27, 2020

James Richard Copiskey, 45, of Egg Harbor died Feb. 27, 2020.

He was born in Sturgeon Bay to Donald J. Copiskey and Joanne Marie (Salkowski) Copiskey. James graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1992. He was employed as a skilled fabricator with various local industries: Wulf Bros., Hi Tec Fabrication, Emerson Motors and Hatco, all in Sturgeon Bay. He also operated his own painting business, Affordable Painting of Door County.

James enjoyed camping, fishing, watching NASCAR races, cooking and listening to music, and he was a loyal Packer fan. He will be remembered as a dad pulling his kids around the yard in a boat with the riding lawnmower for fun, playing softball and soccer outside, and watching a favorite family TV show – the Incredible Hulk series – with lots of popcorn.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kiana and Kayla Copiskey.

James will be laid to rest beside his family in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Juddville with a private family committal service.
