Obituary: James Richard Milbach

James Richard Milbach, 58, of Sturgeon Bay, Town of Nasewaupee, passed away Thursday evening, March 31, 2016 at his home fighting the good fight as long as he could.

He was born September 13, 1957 in Appleton, the son of Elaine Matuszak and Richard Milbach. Jim graduated from Seymour High School in 1976. On December 12, 1977, he married Audrey Denise McKenna. Jim worked for over 20 years as heating and cooling service technician in Sturgeon Bay.

Jim’s presence was larger than life with a handshake to match. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and their families. Jim was a social butterfly who loved being in the presence of others. Following his illness and retirement in 1999, Jim found reading to be of great delight, especially Christian novels, and books by author, Steven Lawhead. Walks in Potawatomi Park, and golfing were also continued enjoyments in his life until he could no longer.

Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Audrey; two children, Aprille (Joel) Schutte of Rossford, OH, Luke (Hildy) Milbach of Algoma; seven, grandchildren, Carolyn, Aidan, Emmanuel, David, Jonathan, Trevor, and Aria; his mother, Elaine Gilbert of Green Bay; two siblings, Ron Milbach of Green Bay, and Cheryl Dorn of Pulaski.

“We would like to extend a special thanks to Unity Hospice for their care in these last days. We are eternally grateful to his doctor’s, Dr. Diane Zwickey and staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, and Dr. Richard Hogan for their kind and competent care given to Jim these past years.”
