Obituary: Jane Olson

Jane Olson, of Ephraim, WI, passed away on June 30, 2016 at Scandia Village in Sister Bay with her family by her side. Services will be held July 7, 2016 at Ephraim Moravian Church at 10:00 am with fellowship following. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the following: Ephraim Moravian Church, Door CANcer, or Scandia Village.

Jane was born on March 23, 1945 to H. Dale and Mary E. Cole in northwest Iowa. She graduated from Algona High School and continued her education graduating with a BS and MA degrees. One June 8, 1968 she married Howard Olson of Ephraim at the Ephraim Moravian Church.

For 34 years, Jane taught school for the Neenah School District in different elementary positions. Upon retirement Howard and Jane moved to Ephraim where Jane became involved in many activities. She volunteered at Gibraltar School, tutored many children, mentored numerous international students seeking summer jobs, served on the Ephraim Village Board and Board Committees. She was very active in her church and Sunday School.

Left to honor Jane’s memory are her sisters and their husbands; MaryAnn Rosonke (Richard) and Nancy Wolken (Paul), nieces Kim, Marci, and Courtney; nephews Curt and Adam; great niece (Amelia); great nephews (Kaleb, Kaden, and Austin); plus, many international and local friends, as well as, her beloved puppy MeToo.

In death, she rejoined her husband, Howard, her parents and her grandparents.
