Janet Shirley Luser, 80, of Egg Harbor, died peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022 surrounded by her family.
She was born June 5, 1941 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Thor and Kathrine (Ingram) Kingland. On December 14, 1957, Lawrence “Larry” Luser and Jan were united in marriage. They shared homes both in Menomonee Falls and Egg Harbor. Jan first opened her shop the Cinnamon Windmill in 1983 in the Cupola House, then moving to the Main Street Shops until she retired in 2019. Jan was deeply rooted in the Egg Harbor community and was active on many boards and committees. She was known as the ambassador for the Main Street Shops and most recently was a key part in the success of the Book Nook Garden. She enjoyed taking rides in her Corvette with her dog, Millie, attending concerts and festivals throughout Door County, taking walks with her neighbors, and hosting tours for her relatives and friends from out of the area.
Jan will be missed by her sons, Gregg (Mary Jo) and Jeff (Mary) Luser; grandchildren, Ashley (Sammy) Suarez, Amber (Jeremy) McDonald, and Max Luser; great-grandchildren, Abby, Sophia, and Sammy Jr. Suarez and Melani and Lorenzo McDonald; brother-in-law, John Luser; beloved dog, Millie; and several friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thor and Kathrine Kingland and husband, Larry Luser.
A visitation will be held at Huehns Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the Egg Harbor Town Cemetery beside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jan’s name to the Wisconsin Humane Society – Door County Campus or BookNook Gardens in Egg Harbor.
