Obituary: Jeanette Mae Schinkten

Jeanette Mae Schinkten, 94, of Nasewaupee, died on November 21, 2017, at Door County Medical Center – Skilled Nursing Facility.  She was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Sturgeon Bay to Henry and Sylvia (Chapman) Taube.  In January of 1945, she married Dr. H.G. Fehl, he preceded her in death on October 20, 1959.  In 1961, she married Oliver Schinkten, he preceded her in death in May of 1969.

During her life, Jeanette worked as a bookkeeper for numerous companies including: Sturgeon Bay Boat Works, Marine Travelift, Warner Wholesale and Roen Salvage Company.  She lived a quiet life and enjoyed living in Nasewaupee.

Survivors include three children, Gary (Sharon) Fehl, Green Bay; Steve (Bonnie) Fehl, Sturgeon Bay; Pamela (Donald) LeRoy, Sturgeon Bay; a step-son, Jeff (Bonny) Schinkten, Sturgeon Bay; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a sister, Jeanne (William) Kary and a brother, John Taube.

Services will be announced at a later date.  Forbes Funeral Home and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
