Obituary: Jerry D. “Pete” Killingsworth

Sept. 11, 1944 – March 23, 2019

Jerry D. “Pete” Killingsworth died peacefully at home. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

His early love of music led to forming a band, The Soul Brothers, with his brother, brother in-law and good friend, and he remains a legend on the Gulf Coast.

He later worked as an electrical engineer in the shipbuilding industry, which took him to Sturgeon Bay. He also enjoyed wildlife photography and astronomy and was an amateur magician who loved to entertain the family children with his coin tricks.

Pete is survived by his wife of 32 years, Holly; sister Maxine Smith; son Jerry; daughters Julie Gustin and Kerri Taylor; five grandchildren; step-daughter Jaclyn Buchberger; four step-granddaughters; many nieces and nephews; and Holly’s family.
