Obituary: Jessie Mae Hoyt Huber

May 17, 1944~October 14, 2020

Jessie Mae Hoyt Huber died on October 14, 2020. She has left behind many people who loved and cherished her, beginning with her husband of 57 years, Douglas Huber and two sons Robert and Scott. Two loving sisters, Roberta White and Louise (Tim) McCant. Grandchildren Ryan (Stefenhagen), Ayla, Steven and Christopher (Black), Shauntelle and Derek (Huber) and great grandchildren Carter (Stichman) and Mia (Stefenhagen).

Jessie was born May 17,1944 in Harrisburg, PA to Richard and Faye Hoyt. She and her sisters were raised in Park Ridge IL, where she met the love of her life. They were married in 1963 and in 1973 Jessie encouraged Doug to move them to from Park Ridge to Door county, where together, they built their home and raised their family. During her time in Door county she worked for many years at Bay Pharmacy.

Inspired by the beauty of God’s handiwork she created beautiful poetry for any occasion. She dearly loved the Lord and was a faithful steward of His gifts to her. Throughout Jessie’s life, she graciously shared her gifts, by being extremely generous through her gentle acts of kindness and thoughtful poetic words. She was a true friend to many people, always trying to make sure no one was forgotten or left behind, taking the extra time to visit a sick friend, share a walk or lunch with others. She was a true and faithful servant, taking every opportunity to share the Lord with others.

She was a member of Friends Community Church in Sturgeon Bay and was a participating member of several Bible studies at different churches as well as in home studies. Jessie added many personal touches to her church and was continually sharing her gifts to her community in general. She will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.

Due to COVID-19, no services are planned at this time.

Memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
