Obituary: Jim Seiler

James “Jim” Seiler, 73, of Forestville, passed away on April 5, 2017.  He was born March 15, 1944 in Sturgeon Bay to Walter and Grace (Halverson) Seiler.  On May 24, 1986, he married Keitha Langlois in Appleton.  Jim attended and played varsity football at Algoma High School, graduating in 1962.

Jim worked as a salesman for Reliable Beauty Products for 35 years.  He had previously worked for Ford Credit in Appleton.  In his retirement, he operated a sharpening business throughout the state.

During his life, Jim enjoyed owning horses, deer hunting, restoring old lawn tractors, and travelling to Iola in his ’57 Chevy Pick up Truck.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, 3 children, Jeff Seiler, Appleton; Bonny Sorenson, Appleton; and Joseph Seiler, Aspen, CO; 2 grandsons, Alex James and Jeffrey Mark; brother John (Joan) Seiler and sister Janet (Jocko) Rader, all of Sturgeon Bay; also 2 god-children, Kerri Mallien and Brock McArdle; and 6 nieces and 1 nephew.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church.  Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  A memorial fund has been established in his name.
