Obituary: Joan Marie Delorit

Joan Marie Delorit, 79, formerly of Brussels, died Oct. 24, 2016, at Ministry Door County Medical Center-Skilled Nursing Facility.  She was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Kewaunee County to Gilbert and Irene (Blahnik) Finendale.  Joan farmed in the Forestville area and owned and operated Delorit Sales and Service for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo with friends, gardening, word puzzles and watching the Green Bay Packers.  Joan was a member of St. Francis and St. Mary’s Parrish.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Delorit, Suamico; Dan (Linda) Delorit, Brussels; Randy Delorit, Brussels; one daughter Theresa (Scott) Shepard, Bark River, MI; five grandchildren, Stacie (Erik) Jacquet, Nicole (Bryan) Wiesner, Joel Delorit, Cassy and Cole Shepard; four great-grandchildren, Colbi and Chelsie Jacquet, Tia and Keagan Wiesner; one Aunt, Gert Wendling.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Delorit; a daughter-in-law, Char Delorit and special friend, Allen Conard.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 am Friday, October 28, 2016, at St. Francis and St. Mary’s Church in Brussels, the Rev. Steven VanBoogard and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and then at the church on Friday from 10 am until time of services.   A prayer service will be held at 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank her special neighbor, Molly, and the staffs at Cardinal Ridge and MDCMC-SNF for the loving care and support.
