Obituary: John Joseph Stegmann

John Joseph Stegmann, 77, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Ministry Door County Medical Center on March 24, 2016. He was born on June 8, 1938, in Door County to Louis and Lucy (Tenor) Stegmann. John graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. On November 7, 1959, he married Maxine Lardinois in Brussels.

John worked for Tenor Brothers and Reliance Construction. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. John is a member of the Door County Baseball Hall of Fame and also loved his time playing in the Door-Kewaunee Dart Ball League.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine; two daughters, Kim (Randy) Sibilsky, Kay (friend, Harry “Scooter” Saxton) Stegmann; two sons, Jay Stegmann, and Tim Stegmann, all of Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Justin (Joanna) Stegmann, Bradley (Tara) Stegmann, Aaron (friend, Courtney) Anderson, and Nicole (friend, Hunter) Stegmann; step-granddaughters, Amanda (Brandon) Wautier, and Jessica (friend, Alex) Sibilsky; great-grandson, Teagan Stegmann; two great-step-grandchildren, Kaiden and Hailey Wautier; one sister, Shirley Schartner, Sturgeon Bay; one brother, Louis (Pat) Stegmann, Florida; brother-in-law, Lee Maccoux, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Darlene (Vincent) Kinnard, Green Bay; and LaVerne Lardinois, Brussels; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lucille Maccoux.

Funeral services were heldĀ March 30, 2016, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood with Rev. Robert Stegmann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be offered atĀ forbesfuneralhome.com.
