Obituary: Joyce L. Arzich

Joyce L. Arzich, 70, of Egg Harbor, died at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay following a sudden illness. She was born in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of the late Bud and Onda (Short) Wallen. She received her Masters in Nursing from the University of St. Francis and had a 33-year nursing career. Thirteen of those years were spent at Door County Memorial Hospital. On Nov. 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to Anthony J. Arzich. They moved to Door County permanently in 2000. Joyce believed in lifelong learning and was an avid reader. She was especially fond of being near or on the water and viewing the sunset. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Robert Stegman as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery columbarium. Friends may call at the church Sept. 4, from 10 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Joyce’s memory for the Door County Humane Society, or the Door County Memorial Hospital Foundation, nursing scholarship fund.
