Obituary: Joyce Marilyn Stvan

Joyce Marilyn Stvan died at Good Samaritan-Scandia Village in Sister Bay Jan. 4, 2018 from the effects of Alzheimer’s. She was born May 27, 1923 the only child of Mable (Coupal) and Leo Lewis in Milwaukee. She attended local schools in Milwaukee graduating from Pulaski High School. She attended Prospect Hall Secretarial School and was employed by Inland Steel Products Co for 18 years. On Aug. 1, 1945 she married Franklin Stvan who at this time was still in the Navy. After his discharge they lived in Greenfield, Wis. until 1982 when they moved to a rural home in Ellison Bay. In 2014 Alzheimer’s caused Joyce to move to the Scandia Village nursing home. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral Mass for Joyce was held Jan. 7 at 1 pm at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Sister Bay with Fr. David Ruby officiating followed by a social gathering at the church. Thank you to the Staff at Birchwood – Scandia Village and everyone who gave Joyce so much tender care and love.
